   1. Metamorphosed and recrystallized carbonate rock that is generally capable of supporting cave development. For example much of the Antro del Corchia in Italy and many caves in the South Nordland area of Norway have formed in marble [9].
   2. Limestone recrystallized and hardened by heat and pressure.
   3. Commercially, any limestone that will take a high polish [10].
